Community Activity

Stories From The Pandemic, supported a wide range of activities to take place across the city which enable many communities to come together, reflect on their experiences from the pandemic and engage in memorial activity together.

 

Compassionate Sheffield, in partnership with Sheffield City Council, awarded over 50 small grants to a wide range community groups and organisations in Sheffield under its Covid-19 Community Memorial Fund.

'Give us a GIF' - DINA

Sheffield arts venue, DINA, projected a patchwork of ‘lockdown’ GIFs, sent to them by members of the public, onto their venue in Fitzalan Square.

‘Help Each Other!’ - Stand and Be Counted

Mum's United

Mum’s United provided opportunities for young people to do artwork and interviews to talk about Covid-19 and its impact on themselves and their families. Young people took ownership of the project, conducting a series of interviews and creating an art piece ‘remembrance tree’.
